BEHOLD THE NEW DAY!

Part Twelve

THERE COMES A DAY

There comes a day when God must prove
That HE, ALONE, IS GOD!
When we must journey where
No mortal foot has ever trod!

There comes a day when we must see
True Glory in its splendor;
When we must hear God’s Truth at last
So strong, and yet so tender!

There comes a day when flesh must yield
To Spirit evermore!
When we must knock and enter through
Our God’s Eternal Door!

There comes a day when we no more
Look back at sin and death;
When flesh gives up the ghost and takes
His final earthly breath!

There comes a day when everything
Will be revealed to us;
When ashes go to ashes; and
All dust returns to dust.

There comes a day when knowledge
Shall surpass our finite mind;
When wisdom shines so brightly,
Human sight is rendered blind!

There comes a day when earthly riches
Pale to worthless dun;
When wealth of spirit far outstrips
The glory of the sun!

There comes a day when human will
Surrenders to God’s Will;
When “self” bows low before Christ’s throne
When He says, “Peace, be still!”

There comes a day when all shall know
That Jesus Christ is Lord!
When He shall rule His earth and heaven
In Truth and one accord!

There comes a day when Love and Peace
Are King and Queen of all;
When every heart shall rise to glory
Nevermore to fall!

There comes a day when knees shall bow
And tongues shall all confess
That Jesus Christ is Lord of lords
And lasting blessedness!

Even if you cannot yet believe these things,
THIS DAY SHALL COME TO YOU!
