Part Forty-two

Mine Eyes Have Seen the Glory (G)

The Lord is speaking Joel’s prophetic Word below for this present hour! Let those with an ear to hear, receive it soberly and prayerfully! The Lord does nothing without first alerting His people. He speaks to His prophets and intercessors so as to prepare His overcomers for each new crisis. While God’s people can be taken by surprise; true sons are never overtaken by surprises! We are undergirded by a strong foundation of faith, trust and hope in our Father; and have learned to rally from every jolting disturbance with PRAISE AND THANKSGIVING!

“Blow the trumpet in Zion, and sound an alarm in my holy mountain! Let all the inhabitants of the land tremble- for the Day of the Lord is coming; it is near at hand!! But it is a day of darkness and gloom; a day of clouds and thick darkness like the morning spread over the mountains! This is a great and strong people; the like of which has never before existed, nor shall there ever be again, even to the years of many generations! A fire devours before them and a flame burns behind them! The land is as the Garden of Eden before them and a desolate wilderness behind them! Yes, nothing will escape them. Their appearance is like horses; and they shall even run as swift horsemen! They shall leap as the noise of chariots on mountain tops and they will make the noise of a flame of fire devouring the stubble [of men’s worthless, human works- see: 1 Co 3:11-15]. They will be as a strong people set in battle array!! The people will be in anguish before them; and every face will turn pale at the sight of them! They shall run like mighty men; they shall climb the walls like men of war! Each shall march on his ways, and they shall not break their ranks! Neither shall one thrust another; they will each walk in his own path. Should they fall on the sword, they shall not be wounded! They shall run to and fro in the city; they will run upon the wall, they will climb upon the house.

They will enter in at the windows like a thief. The earth will quake and the heavens shall tremble before them. The sun and moon shall become dark, and the stars will refuse to shine! The Lord will speak to His army; for His camp is very great! He Who executes his word is strong: for the day of the Lord is great and very terrible; and who can abide it? Therefore the Lord says to you, ‘Turn to Me now with all your heart! Seek Me now with fasting, weeping, and mourning!! Instead of observing the former Hebrew custom of tearing your robe to demonstrate humility or repentance before God, rend your heart, and turn to the Lord, your God: for He is gracious, merciful, slow to anger and of great kindness...therefore blow the trumpet in Zion, sanctify a fast, call a solemn assembly! Gather the people, sanctify the congregation, assemble the elders, gather the children, even the ones that are still wet-nursing! Let the bridegroom go forth out of His chamber, and let the bride come from her closet to meet Him!! Let the priests, the ministers of the Lord, weep between the porch and the altar, and let them say, ‘Spare Your people, O Lord, and do not subject Your heritage to reproach, that the heathen should rule over them and say among the people, ‘Where is their God?’ Then will the Lord be jealous for his land, and pity his people.

Yes, the Lord will answer his people, saying, ‘Behold, I will send corn, wine and oil and you will be satisfied with it; and I will never again make you a reproach among the heathen! But I will remove far off from you the northern army, and will drive him into a land that is barren and desolate with his face toward the east sea and his back toward the furthest sea! And his stink shall arise, and his bad smell shall come up, because he has done great things.

Fear not, O land, be glad and rejoice! For the Lord will do great things. Be not afraid...be glad, you children of Zion and rejoice in the Lord your God: for He has given you the former rain moderately; but He will make the the former and the latter rain come down for you...then...I will restore to you the years that the locust has eaten, the cankerworm, and the caterpillar, and the palmerworm, my great army which I sent among you!

You will eat in plenty and be satisfied and praise the name of the Lord your God that has dealt wondrously with you!! My people will never be ashamed and will know I am in the midst of Israel, and I, alone, am the Lord your God, and My people shall never be ashamed. It will come to pass afterward that I will pour out My Spirit on all flesh; your sons and daughters will prophesy; your old men will dream dreams; and your young men will see visions...I will show wonders of blood, fire and pillars of smoke in the heavens and the earth. The sun will be darkened and the moon will turn into blood before the great and terrible Day of the Lord is come. And it will come to pass that whoever calls on the Name of the Lord will be delivered! For in Mount Zion, in Jerusalem; and the remnant whom the Lord will call, there shall be deliverance, for the Lord has said so!!” (Joel 2)

              This is a strong Word; but, as every Oracle of God, it is not without hope! If we receive His Righteous Truths as trusting children, it makes it easier to humble ourselves in His sight and accept the necessary chastisements of our fleshly nature. Not only that, it helps us more quickly recognize and rejoice in the blessed rewards prepared for, and awaiting, our Spirit Nature! Hallelujah!
